Pose by Pose Yoga is happy to now offer a special certification program giving you the tools you need to teach in foster homes in our community & beyond. The program will be infused with experienced yoga teachers and professionals who currently work in the field. The presentation will include a glimpse at Yoga and Trauma- the effects, the signs and techniques that aid in healing.
This program will include lecture, asana, interactive group activities and a special outing to give you first hand experience & knowledge of the foster system. You will learn to work with children in group homes. We will, as a group, take the time to reflect on what each of our individual passions are and develop vision on how to share this with our community.
This program is open to graduates of accredited yoga schools.
Upcoming Module: Teaching Yoga To At-Risk Youth
Gain the tools you need to teach in foster homes in our community and beyond. The program will be infused with experienced yoga teachers, mental health professionals, and those who have direct experience working in the field.
This program will include lecture, asana, interactive group activities and a special outing to give you first hand experience and knowledge of the foster system. You will learn to work with children and young adults. We will, as a group, visit a children’s foster home.
The program is open to graduates of accredited Yoga Alliance Programs and Pose by Pose Graduates who have completed part one of our Trauma Program, Yoga As Therapy: A Multidisciplinary Approach. If you are not sure you are eligible, please contact Jennifer.
This workshops will be held on Saturday, January 18th from 10:30 am – 6:30 pm. We will meet at the yoga studio for the program, visit a local group foster home together, and return to the studio for the remainder of the program.
Program costs is $250 per person
$100 Deposit Required by 1/10
*This is a piece of our 4 part program to receive your Trauma Informed Yoga Certification. All 4 parts must be attended to get the certification. The introduction will run again prior to our Domestic Violence and Veterans/First-Responder Course.
These courses are not eligible for CEU’s under Yoga Alliance per their policy of not allowing therapeutic topics. This course is not a part of the regular yoga teacher training.
